The headline today on MSN reads: "A Historic Day of Transition."
I remember being taught that, grammatically, it would be correct to say: "An Historic Day of Transition."  Its not that I necessarily agree with it.  Thats just what I've always thought because its what I learned long ago.

Where does it lead?  When society collectively decides to disregard the rules of language its a slippery slope toward lol txt language.  Lol, huh?
